Music Coast is an independent music media company — plus an indie-first streaming app and community. This hub collects key disclosures, policies, and notices that apply to the Music Coast "Service" (musiccoast.com, the iOS/Android apps, and the Music Coast web app when available).

For the core legal documents, see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Some features described below (for example, coins/tokens, student or military discounts) may be planned or unavailable at launch.

Subscription and Billing Disclosure

1. Scope of this disclosure

This Subscription and Billing Disclosure applies to the Music Coast service (the "Service"), including:

  • the musiccoast.com website (including articles, interviews, and other media pages);
  • the Music Coast iOS app;
  • the Music Coast Android app; and
  • the Music Coast web app (when available).

If there is any conflict between this Disclosure and Music Coast’s Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.

2. Subscription plans and pricing

Music Coast offers multiple listening tiers. The table below summarizes current planned pricing and key features.

Military Premium (planned) 1 mo $7.99

* "No" in the Ads column means we do not serve third-party audio ads between songs on that tier. We may still show limited promotional messages (for example, service announcements or Music Coast promotions), and some third-party content may include its own messaging.

Prices shown above are in U.S. dollars (USD) for reference. Actual prices may vary by platform (Apple/Google), country/region, local taxes, and store rounding.

Superfan+ is not available at initial release and may be launched later (or not launched at all).

3. Billing, auto-renewal, and cancellations

If you purchase a subscription through Apple or Google, your subscription is billed and managed by that store. Your subscription typically auto-renews unless you cancel before your next renewal date.

  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
  • If you cancel, you will generally keep access to Premium/Family features until the end of the current paid period.
  • If Music Coast later offers web billing for certain regions or plans, additional payment options may appear inside the Service.

We may change subscription prices or available plans from time to time. If a price changes, we will provide notice as required by applicable law and/or the applicable app store rules.

4. Offline listening disclosures

Offline listening (sometimes called offline downloads) is available only on eligible paid tiers (Premium and Family) and only for eligible content.

  • Offline content is typically stored as an encrypted, app-controlled copy and is not a permanent download you can keep or export.
  • Offline access may require periodic online check-ins for license validation and account status.
  • Tracks can become unavailable offline (or removed entirely) if rights change, a creator/label removes the track, or we receive a valid takedown request.
  • Device limits, storage limits, and offline availability may vary by platform and may change over time.

5. Family plan disclosures

Family is intended for up to 6 accounts in the same household. Enforcement may evolve over time and may include account-level restrictions.

  • We may limit the number of Family slots, require re-authentication, or remove members if we believe the plan is being misused.
  • If misuse is detected, we may downgrade, suspend, or terminate access consistent with our Terms of Service.

6. Student and Military discounts (planned)

Student Premium and Military Premium are planned for a post-launch update (approximately 120 days after initial release).

  • Eligibility verification will be required and may be provided by a third-party verification partner.
  • If verification fails, expires, or is revoked, your discounted plan may be converted to a standard Premium plan or canceled, depending on the options available in your store and your selections.

Discounted plans may not be available in all regions.

7. Contact

If you have questions about subscriptions, billing, or plan eligibility, contact Music Coast Support through the Contact page on musiccoast.com.

Refunds and Cancellations Policy

General Refund Requests

If you would like to request a refund for a faulty product, please contact Music Co LLC customer support within 14 days of purchase. When submitting your request, please provide detailed information regarding the issue and be ready to provide visual proof (such as screenshots or photos) showing that the product is faulty.

Digital Products

Please note that if your purchase was a digital product, we generally do not provide refunds. All sales of digital products are deemed final unless the file is proven to be corrupt or faulty upon delivery.

How to Submit a Request

If you would like to submit a refund request, please use the contact information provided on our website. To expedite the process, we kindly ask you to include:

  • Proof of payment (a payment receipt or a screenshot from your bank statement); and
  • The email address used to sign up or make the purchase.
Refund Processing

All approved refunds are transferred back to the account and payment method that initially paid for the product. By purchasing from our website, you agree to this refund policy and waive any rights to subject it to legal action or judgment.

Disputes and Chargebacks

Please contact us first. If you dispute or charge back the purchase with your credit card provider, we will not be able to process a refund directly, and it may take months until a final resolution is settled upon by the bank. Cases closed in the merchant’s favor usually cannot be reversed. We kindly ask you to stay patient and give us a chance to resolve the issue directly with you before contacting your bank.

Coins/Tokens Disclosure

1. Scope and key idea

This Coins/Tokens Disclosure applies to the Music Coast Service (musiccoast.com, Music Coast mobile apps, and the Music Coast web app when available).

Coins/tokens ("Tokens") are optional digital items designed to let users support or tip an artist within Music Coast.

  • Tokens are not included in subscriptions at launch (Free, Premium, and Family include 0 tokens/coins by default).
  • Tokens may be introduced later as an optional add-on purchase (or may remain unavailable).

2. Pricing

If enabled, the target price is approximately $3.00 USD per token/coin. Final pricing may vary by:

  • platform (Apple/Google/web),
  • country/region and currency conversion,
  • taxes, and
  • store rounding and pricing tiers.

We may run promotions, bundles, or different pricing models in the future.

3. Buying and assigning tokens

If tokens are enabled, users may be able to purchase tokens and then assign them to a specific artist as support.

  • Once assigned to an artist, the assignment may be treated as final and irreversible (for example, to prevent abuse and chargeback fraud).
  • We may set limits (per purchase, per day, per account) and may require additional verification for high-volume activity.

4. No cash value to users; restrictions

Tokens have no cash value to users and are not redeemable by users for cash.

  • Tokens are not legal tender, are not a stored-value account, and are not a bank account.
  • Tokens are generally non-transferable between users unless Music Coast explicitly enables a gifting feature later.
  • Tokens may be removed, suspended, or reversed if we reasonably believe there was fraud, abuse, chargebacks, or a violation of our policies.

5. Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks

Refund eligibility depends on where the purchase occurred and whether tokens were assigned to an artist.

  • If purchased through Apple or Google, refunds are typically handled under that store’s rules and processes, except where required by law.
  • If tokens have been assigned to an artist, we may treat the purchase as non-refundable (except where required by law).
  • Chargebacks, payment disputes, or suspicious activity may result in temporary holds, feature limitations, or account suspension.

6. Artist payout intent (important disclosure)

Tokens are intended to translate into artist support payments. However, token value is not the same as artist payout.

  • Artist payouts (if offered) should be calculated as a portion of net proceeds after applicable app store fees, payment processing costs, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, and other service fees.
  • Actual payout timing, thresholds, and methods are defined in the Music Coast Creator Monetization Terms (or equivalent creator payout policy).
  • Music Coast does not promise that an artist will receive $3.00 per token/coin; payout amounts may be lower due to the deductions listed above.

7. Changes and discontinuation

Tokens are optional and may change over time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue tokens at any time to the extent permitted by law.

  • We may change token pricing, rules, availability by country, and program eligibility.
  • We may limit token purchases in certain regions or on certain platforms due to legal, compliance, or store policy constraints.

8. Contact

Questions about tokens/coins can be directed to Music Coast Support via the contact methods listed on musiccoast.com.

  • content that infringes intellectual property rights (copyright/trademark) or other rights;

If you upload music, artwork, or other files, you must also follow the Creator Upload and Rights Policy. In particular:

  • Upload only content you have rights to share on Music Coast.
  • Do not upload unlicensed covers, remixes, mashups, or samples unless you have all required permissions.
  • Do not attempt to manipulate plays or monetization metrics.

4. Reporting and blocking

If you see content or behavior that violates these Guidelines, you can report it through the Service (where reporting tools are provided) or by contacting Music Coast Support.

  • We may remove content, issue warnings, limit features, or suspend/terminate accounts based on violations.
  • We may take immediate action for severe violations or credible safety risks.
  • You may be able to block other users where that feature is available.

5. Appeals

If you believe we removed content or restricted your account in error, you may contact Music Coast Support to request review. We do not guarantee that every decision will be reversed, but we will consider good-faith requests.

6. Changes

We may update these Community Guidelines as the Service evolves.

Advertising, Sponsorship, and Affiliate Disclosure

1. Scope

This Advertising, Sponsorship, and Affiliate Disclosure applies to Music Coast media and content published on musiccoast.com and related Music Coast channels (including the Music Coast apps and web app where editorial content is shown).

2. Sponsored content and advertising

Some content on Music Coast may be sponsored, paid for, or created in partnership with a brand, label, promoter, venue, or other third party.

  • When content is sponsored, we aim to label it clearly (for example, "Sponsored," "Paid Partnership," or similar).
  • Advertisements may appear on Music Coast, including display ads, video ads, or other formats.
  • The presence of advertising does not necessarily imply endorsement by Music Coast.

3. Affiliate links

Music Coast may use affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Music Coast may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

  • Affiliate relationships do not change our goal of providing honest coverage.
  • Affiliate availability varies by region and may change over time.

4. Reviews, opinions, and editorial independence

Editorial content (including reviews, interviews, and festival coverage) reflects the opinions and experiences of the authors at the time of publication.

  • We may receive products, passes, or access for review or coverage. If so, we aim to disclose that context where appropriate.
  • We do not guarantee that editorial content is error-free, complete, or current, and we may update or correct content over time.

5. Third-party materials and press releases

Some information may be provided by third parties (for example, press releases, announcements, embedded social media, or event information).

  • We are not responsible for third-party websites, ticketing systems, or linked services.
  • Event schedules, lineups, and prices can change; confirm details with official sources.

6. Contact

Questions about advertising or partnerships can be sent to Music Coast via the Contact page on musiccoast.com.

1. What Music Coast owns ("Site Content")

Unless otherwise stated, Music Co LLC owns (or licenses) the website and app content that Music Coast creates, including:

  • site design, code, and user interface elements;
  • articles, interviews, editorial content, and original photography (when created by Music Coast or our contractors);
  • Music Coast trademarks, logos, and brand assets.

You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute Site Content without written permission, except as allowed by applicable law.

2. What creators and labels own ("User Content")

Music Coast does not claim ownership of music, audio recordings, artwork, or other content uploaded by artists, labels, or users ("User Content").

  • User Content remains owned by the applicable rights holders.
  • User Content is made available on Music Coast based on licenses granted to Music Coast by uploaders and/or other rights holders.
  • Availability of specific tracks can change at any time due to rights changes, takedowns, or uploader decisions.

3. Reporting copyright infringement (DMCA - U.S.)

Music Coast respects the intellectual property rights of others and responds to valid copyright notices.

Designated DMCA Agent (to be completed)

  • Name/Title: [DMCA AGENT NAME OR TITLE]
  • Mailing Address: [DMCA AGENT ADDRESS]
  • Phone: [DMCA AGENT PHONE]
  • Email: [DMCA AGENT EMAIL]

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to the Designated DMCA Agent that includes:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  • identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to locate it (for example, track title, artist name, and URL);
  • your contact information (address, telephone number, and email);
  • a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Notices that do not include all required information may be delayed or may not be processed.

4. Counter-notices

If your content was removed due to a copyright notice and you believe it was removed by mistake, you may submit a counter-notice to the Designated DMCA Agent. A valid counter-notice typically includes:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
  • a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and
  • your name, address, and telephone number, plus a statement consenting to jurisdiction of the appropriate court (as required by law).

If you submit a counter-notice, we may provide a copy to the complaining party as required by law.

5. Repeat infringer policy

Music Coast may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, consistent with applicable law and our Terms of Service.

6. Contact

For general copyright questions (not formal DMCA notices), contact Music Coast Support via musiccoast.com.

Creator Upload and Rights Policy

1. Who may upload

Music Coast is an opt-in platform. You may upload audio, artwork, and related metadata only if you are:

  • the owner of the rights in the content (for example, an independent artist who owns their recordings and controls their songwriting rights), or
  • a label, distributor, publisher, or other authorized representative with written authority to upload and license the content to Music Coast.

If you are not sure you have the necessary rights, do not upload the content.

2. Rights you must have (masters + publishing + artwork)

Most music involves at least two sets of rights. By uploading, you represent and warrant you have the necessary rights and permissions for the territories where your content is available, including:

  • Sound recording ("master") rights - the right to authorize interactive streaming and offline listening of the recording.
  • Musical work (composition/publishing) rights - the right to authorize the use of the underlying song (melody/lyrics), including streaming and any necessary reproductions for offline listening.
  • Artwork and branding rights - cover art, images, logos, and any third-party materials included with the release.
  • Featured artist and contributor permissions - permissions from featured performers, producers, or other contributors where required.

If your release includes multiple writers, publishers, samples, or other third-party content, you must obtain all necessary permissions before uploading.

3. Covers, remixes, DJ mixes, samples (launch-safe rule)

To keep the Service safe and sustainable at launch, Music Coast may restrict or prohibit certain categories of uploads.

  • Covers (recording someone else’s song): may be prohibited unless you can demonstrate you have secured the necessary permissions for the composition and any required licenses in each territory.
  • Remixes, mashups, DJ mixes: may be prohibited unless you have written permission from all relevant rights holders (masters and compositions) for every included work.
  • Samples: prohibited unless you have secured all sample clearances (both master and publishing) and can provide proof upon request.

If Music Coast later enables "DJ/Remix" features, those features will be subject to stricter rules and proof-of-rights requirements.

4. The license you grant to Music Coast

You keep ownership of your content. However, to operate the Service, you grant Music Co LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

  • host and store your audio and associated files;
  • make technical copies needed for streaming (encoding, caching, and delivery);
  • distribute and make your content available to users through the Service;
  • publicly perform your content through interactive streams;
  • enable offline listening for eligible paid users (for example, encrypted, app-controlled offline copies);
  • display your name/artist name, artwork, and release metadata in the Service;
  • create short previews or clips for discovery and promotion within the Service; and
  • use your content for Service operations, support, and improving the platform.

This license is granted only for operating and promoting Music Coast and does not transfer ownership of your content to Music Coast.

5. Metadata accuracy

You agree to provide accurate metadata (for example, track title, artist name, contributors, and ownership information) and to update it if it changes.

  • Inaccurate metadata can cause payment errors and rights conflicts.
  • We may require additional metadata fields in the future (for example, ISRCs, writer/publisher info, or split information) as the Service scales.

6. Enforcement: removals, geo-blocking, and proof of rights

Music Coast reserves the right to remove content or disable features at any time to the extent permitted by law, including when:

  • we receive a credible copyright complaint or rights dispute;
  • we believe an upload violates these policies or our Terms of Service;
  • we cannot confirm rights when requested; or
  • we detect fraud, manipulation, or other abuse.

We may request documentation (licenses, agreements, permissions) to confirm your rights. Failure to provide proof within a reasonable time may result in content removal, monetization holds, account warnings, or account termination.

7. No guaranteed distribution or availability

Uploading to Music Coast does not guarantee that your content will be accepted, featured, or remain available indefinitely.

  • We may remove or limit content to comply with law, platform policies, or rights-holder requests.
  • Availability may vary by country/region and by platform (iOS, Android, web).

8. Contact

If you have questions about upload eligibility or rights requirements, contact Music Coast Support via musiccoast.com.

Creator Monetization and Earnings Disclosure

1. Scope

This Creator Monetization and Earnings Disclosure applies to artists, labels, and other uploaders who participate in Music Coast monetization programs (the "Monetization Program").

The Monetization Program is optional. You may be able to upload music without enrolling in monetization. Enrollment (if offered) is subject to eligibility requirements and acceptance by Music Coast.

2. No guaranteed earnings

Music Coast does not guarantee any particular level of plays, revenue, or earnings. Earnings can vary widely depending on audience demand, territory availability, ad fill, subscription mix, and many other factors.

3. How earnings may be generated

If you are approved for monetization, earnings may be generated from one or more sources, such as:

  • Advertising revenue from ad-supported listening (for example, ads between songs on Free tier), including where applicable revenue from advertising partners (such as AdSense or other ad networks).
  • Subscription revenue attributable to Premium and Family plans (after store fees and other deductions).
  • Coins/Tokens or other fan-support features (if enabled).
  • Other revenue from partnerships, promotions, or sponsorships (if offered).

Music Coast may add, remove, or modify revenue sources at any time to the extent permitted by law.

4. Play counting, metrics, and fraud controls

Music Coast uses internal metrics to count listening activity and determine eligible payouts.

  • We may apply anti-fraud and invalid-traffic filters (for example, to detect bots, click farms, incentivized streams, or other manipulation).
  • We may exclude suspicious, repetitive, or non-human activity from play counts and payout calculations.
  • If we reasonably believe your account, content, or audience activity involves manipulation or prohibited conduct, we may withhold earnings, remove content, suspend monetization, or terminate accounts.

The definition of a "qualified play" (or similar metric) may change over time as the Service evolves.

5. Net proceeds; deductions (important disclosure)

Artist payouts are typically calculated from net proceeds, not gross revenue.

  • Net proceeds may exclude or deduct app store fees, payment processing fees, taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, credits, and other platform/service costs.
  • If Coins/Tokens are enabled, token purchases may be subject to additional deductions (for example, store fees and payment fees) before any artist payout is calculated.
  • Music Coast may also allocate amounts to cover fraud loss, disputes, or required reserves to the extent permitted by law.

6. Payout timing, thresholds, and holds

Payout schedules, minimum thresholds, and supported payout methods may vary by country and may change over time.

  • We may require a minimum earnings threshold before issuing a payout.
  • We may apply temporary holds (for example, for fraud review, chargeback windows, rights disputes, or compliance verification).
  • If you close your account or remove content, we may still apply holds or adjustments for refunds, disputes, or chargebacks that occur after the fact.

7. Taxes and required information

You are responsible for your taxes and reporting obligations. Music Coast may require you to provide tax forms or identity/payment information before payouts (for example, W-9/W-8 forms in the United States or similar forms in other countries).

  • If you do not provide required information, payouts may be delayed or suspended.
  • You are responsible for keeping your payout details up to date.

8. Contact

Questions about creator monetization can be sent to Music Coast Support through musiccoast.com.

  • We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or policies.
  • Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.

4. Availability and changes

The Service may change over time, and features may differ by platform (iOS, Android, web) or by country/region.

  • We may add, remove, or update features (including offline listening, token features, or plan types).
